AMIGO GRINGO EXPRESS The New York Times is considered one of the best newspapers in the world, and I’m not just saying that because I write for their Travel section. But just to be clear, the Travel section is also considered the best in the world by several people, such like… my mother. OK, in New York, even people who get their news online from Monday to Friday buy the print edition of the Times on Sundays. And it’s not uncommon to read it in public, like in a cafe. But the section you choose will send something about you to New Yorkers. Let’s take a look. Styles – fashion, society, marriages. Whoever reads it is chic, stylish, but a little bit of a gossip. Arts & Leisure – you’re a sophisticated, cultured person who likes ballet, opera, modern art, Finding Dory. The front page – you probably want to talk about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Sunday Review – opinions and editorials, you must be an intellectual. Book Review – you are even more intellectual, or, more likely, you’re pretending to be. And Travel – that means you appreciate talented writers. Finally, Business. You are a fricking idiot, reading about the economy on a Sunday! Of course the ideal would be to have read them all, that way you really seem like a sophisticated person like me – or Eric. Right Eric?
